the hwfreedrive folder,

Homeworld.exe caused an error and will be closed. All I get is a full black screen - and then a stack-Sat-Sep-30-16-15-18-2006-.dump

Also, I'm not sure about the window option (given in your lnk-file and not given in the readme) and about the working directory in the link attributes.

Finally, the HW-exe provided, does it replace the original one or should it stay in the freedrive directory? (The latter one can be chosen freely and do I have to keep the 8-digits-DOS-convention?)

Thanks anyway - any help would be appreciated!

P.S.: I used C:\HWfree\Homeworld.exe /noSound /noSpeech /pilotView /prepath c:\Programme\_\Homeworld\

Hi Babbo,
copy the FEMAN folder to your homeworld folder,if it dont work
you can add this option: /debugtofile
it will creat a log file in your C:\HWfree\ folder,
the error log is in some where before the game quit log,
then you will find what the error is.

Running :-)

... but I can't say I've really flown my scout: I'm simply not sure about the sequence of keys in which a ship has to be controlled ... some specific statements and questions:

- does it work without pilotview, i.e. may I even fly in the sensors view?
- what does numpad9 (flymode 1-3) mean?
- numpad1-6 are working well
- ctrl-numpad1,2,3,5 don't work

A suggestion: couldn't you add a line in the screen to get an idea what exactly the ship is doing right now so you get an idea what you're supposed to do in order to 'counteract' ... (man, flying must be difficult!)

All in all, that's excitement! But where's the accelerator and where's my orientation?

Edit: Also, shouldn't it be "numpad,"? (I don't have a "numpad."Wink And, finally, what's the meaning of "front" and "back"?

first, select a ship and press *,this ship is start controled by you.
ctrl+numpad9 will set free the ship,
when you select another ship and press *,the old ship will be set free .

it does work without pilotview,it doesnt work in sensors view, but you can
use move command to move it and cancel command or ` key to stop it.
if the ship dosent follow you, press * again, or press * after ctrl+numpad9.

numpad9 change the fly mode 1 to 3:
1 : fly like a plane, the ship is heading to it's speed direction.
the centripetal force is auto calculated by the rotate speed and velocity
only accelerate front and back work (numpad0 and DEL)

2 : can accelerate along the head ,up ,right axis of the ship,
eg. when you attack a target, you can fly around it and heading to it.
this will make the ship more chances to survive
numpad0 DEL and ctrl+numpad 2 5 4 6 work

3 : like mode 1 + mode 2

the ship can accelerate from -3 to 3, numpad0 will increase it,and numpad DEL
will decrease it.

I havent add the pilot interface to the game yet, that may spend some time
to understand the graphic functions of the game,
add some single player missions may make it more interesting I think.
