Well here is some welcome news. It looks like Relic/Sierra ARE releasing a demo of Homeworld 2 and it should be available today! Head on over to Relic News for further details...

Other news is somewhat thin on the ground at present. I have just finished the texture mapping on Jeff Murcko's excellent ISSAPC mesh for the HW Space: Above and Beyond Mod. There are some pics available in this thread. I think it is fair to say we are all waiting for HW2 before the ball starts rolling again.

Sorry for the lack of updates of late but summer is still here and holidays and family are taking precedence at present! A long overdue addition to the Tools page has been made adding Delphy's excellent HWSE.

On the modding front I have started work on a new Centauri Atmospheric Shuttle here and for the SAAB mod have textured the ISSAPC mesh by Jeff Murko here. Hopefully things will pick up soon what with the release of HW2 and the kids going back to school!

I have finally found the time to update the dead links on the Modding Tools page. A few other tools have been added as well.

GWIII v2.5 now available! Work has been progressing towards this for some time, so most of you will know what's in the release already. The main focus is a fully playable SP campaign, with no texture corruption. Various old bugs and difficulties have been removed, and we have included new models, backgrounds, SP missions (as far as we can change them due to HW) and more balancing.

Head on over to the downloads page to get your copy.

Work on the mod continues and we're rapidly approaching a new release of GW3: The EA Civil War. This release will have more content, and a revised and fully working singleplayer campaign. Many of you will be pleased to hear that the random crashing bugs should be fixed too. We've had a lot of mail complaining about the game crashing so please just hang on a bit longer.

Spooky has been hard at work, and he's posted some screenshots from the revised singleplayer missons in our forum. Here's level 4, levels 6-8, level 9 (with the Ghostship), level 11, and level 13 (the Karos Graveyard).

In other news, Relic are releasing a stream of information about Homeworld 2 in gaming publications and on the internet. Relicnews usually has the latest details.

Finally some news about Homeworld 2, and lots of articles in the gaming press. Head over to Relicnews for more information and links.

There's a new mod for Homeworld based around Farscape - you can find their site here. The Space: Above and Beyond mod has a new website too.

Also, my email address has changed to thursdayschild@homeworldmods.com. I'd be grateful if everyone would update your address books - Subdimension has disappeared from the internet again, and any emails to the old address probably won't arrive.

It's the day that you thought would never arrive! After longer than we care to remember, version 2.0 of the EA Civil War mod is now available for download. It's been a long time since we've released anything, but we hope that this will make the wait seem worthwhile! Here are some screenshots kindly provided by Shadow of Light from TGU.

This release replaces nearly all the original Homeworld ships, includes an introduction sequence, movies, and a new interface. There are also multiplayer maps based on battles from the series, lots of weapon effects, explosions, and death effects.

Before downloading, please take a look at the readme file. If you have any comments, suggestions, or you just want to get involved in online games, click the forum buttom on the left and come and join the fun.

Thanks to everyone involved in the release! There's a list of contributors in the readme, but get in touch if we've been rude enough to leave you out. Anyway, enough talk - it's available for download
