Here's a quote from the Random Plasma Bombs page. If there is enough demand (i.e. one or two people) a set of effects in popular colors (red, orange, yellow, and so on) could easily be realeased. That demand recently surfaced in the form of Nightwalker, although he did not actually demand this effect. He asked quite politely. Now the plasma bombs are available in the same 12 colors as the Rainbow Ion Beams: red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, green-cyan, cyan, cyan-blue, blue, blue-magenta, magenta, and magenta-red.
Instructions
Unzip rainbowbombs.zip into your Homeworld directory. Open homeworld\etg\r1.script or homeworld\etg\r2.script Find a weapon slot you like and replace its chunk o' text with a color you like. Here's an example that sets Kushan SmallPlasmaBombs to Orange. Use search-replace (carefully!) to change the slot, race, and/or color.

Here's a list of all 12 sets of EBGs (fire*, hit*, and bullet*) and the approximate RGB value of the bombs they create. If you're really cool, you can go down to the bottom of whatever script file you just modified, to the [color of bullets] section and change those lines to reflect the newly-recolored ion beams you just installed. If there isn't a setBulletColor line for the weapon slot you changed, you can make one, just be sure to spell everything correctly.
