Homeworld Effects Manual: setEffOffsetR()
setEffOffsetR(float r, float theta)
Legal values: all real numbers
Default values: (0,0)
Offsets object value meters radially and by theta radians.
Homeworld effects use cylindrical co-ordinates. Think of a clock face. The hands point in the R direction, i.e. radially outwards. setEffOffsetR() offsets an object outwards by value meters and rotates them about the origin by theta radians, as seen in the picture below. Do not expect two objects with the same R offset to have the same position; different values of theta can make the objects appear far apart. Fortunately, there is no randomization of the EffOffsetR attribute, so you can set theta and expect the effect to show up in a certain place, unlike with setDeltaR(). This command does the same thing as setOffsetR() and setOffsetTheta() but operates on spawn()ed effects.
