Homeworld Effects Manual: setDefaults()
setDefaults()
setDefaults() is one of the most important commands in the effect creator's arsenal. Once you set an attribute, it stays set until it is set again, or until setDefaults() is used. Most of the time, setDefaults() is the first command you use for each object. However, if you are creating a number of similar objects, you can omit the setDefaults() in between those objects, and only reset the attributes that distingiush them. If ten sprites are going to have the same texture, and size, but are in different positions, you only have to use setTexture() and setScale() once, then put a setOffsetLOF() before each createSprites() command.
