Homeworld Effects Manual: createSprites()

createSprites(int num, int numDist)

creates num sprites, plus or minus numDist

num and numDist can be integer constants, or integer variables. Floating-point values are obviously illegal; creating 7.62 points is meaningless. Using a floating-point constant or variable will cause a crash. Leaving out a parameter causes a run-time crash.

createSprites() creates num sprites, plus or minus numDist sprites. All attributes that are currently active are applied to all sprites created. Be sure to set either a Texture or an Animation, since that's about all sprites are good for. If you want the same number of sprites created every time, numDist should be zero. Otherwise, you'll end up with somewhere between (num + numDist) and (num - numDist) sprites.
