Federation Starbase

A starbase provides ship construction and repair facilities. Its four large docking bays can house over a dozen starships, and its many smaller hangers add support for many smaller craft.

No engines are fitted - moving an object so large can prove hazardous, however thrusters are available to maintain position. To this effect such installations
are always build where they stand, rather than being build and deployed at alocation.

A starbase is not only a hub of commerce, it also provides vital defence. Its heavy phasers and multiple photon launchers can take on even the most
powerful adversary. Although there is usually an escort fleet assigned, enemies can usually be taken on single handed, but without defence a large fleet can easily inflict heavy damage.

This installation serves as a important command base, essential for any military action.
