Sabre Class

During 2343, Starfleet began a massive modernization program which was intended to replace its aging cruisers with more modern vessels. During this time mission roles were analysed and the need for a light patrol vessel was highlighted. This prompted Starfleet engineers to begin designing what was to become the Sabre class.

This ship is armed with the latest type nine phaser arrays, and its sheer speed and maneuverability make it a dangerous ship in a firefight.

The Sabre proved herself during the second Borg invasion, where several ships managed to survive the running battle, between the Typhon Sector and Earth, whilst inflicting heavy damage on the Borg cube.
