Danube Class

The Danube Class Runabout is a new breed of shuttlecraft, able to function independently and sustain crew and passengers indefinitely. It is capable of carrying passengers and cargo between starships and
installations, and can also serve as a base for small planetary missions.

These ships can also double as light combat vessels, fitted with several phaser arrays. This helps deter attacks from pirates and allows them to serve in support capacity in larger battles.

Runabouts can mostly be found stationed at starbases and outposts, though larger ships such as the Galaxy class have begun to replace their shuttle compliment in favour of these vessels.
