Cerberus

The Cerberus is actually a design that predates its smaller cousin, the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship. When the Dominion began expanding its empire rapidly it no longer had the resources to patrol its space with the larger Cerberus Class. The ships were retired and production switched to the Attack Ship. At the start of the war these ships were more than adequate, polaron weaponry ripping through Federation and Klingon Shields. However new developments by enemy technicians have meant smaller vessels such as the Sabre and K'tinga are now able to hold their own. This led to Vorta Tacticans suggesting an update and reintroduction of the Cerburus design so patrolling attack ships in trouble can call on them for assistance. The similaritys in design of obvious but the Cerberus boasts a much stronger hull and more powerful weapons systems, losing out in maneuaverability. New patrol groups of a Cerberus and two Dominators have had a much higher success rate than the traditional three Attack Ships.
