Keldon Class

When the Cardassian Central Command discovered the Dominion threat, along with the rest of the Alpha Quadrant's powers, they made insufficient preperations. Luckily both the Tal Shiar of the Romulan Star Empire and Obisidian Order of the Cardssian Union did. There upgrades to Keldon Class starhips propelled their performance profile. Unfortunately most of these vessels were lost, but the technology behind them was not.

Standard Keldon Class vessels have received many upgrades following the Obsidian Orders designs, most especially after the injection of Domininon resources. The addition of another large forward firing disruptor and additonal armour and shielding makes this far superior to Galor Class vessels, packing a greater punch. It rivals other cruisers of the main races, something the Cardassian Union greatly needed, and is currently the apex of Cardassian Technology.
