NEWS

This little corner of the page is set aside to let you know how the mod team is doing, and how close to a full conversion of Macross we are.

September 15, 2002:

Lestat is back, yes people, I have finally returned to the loop and I'm back with a macross DYRL vengence! 2002 is macross' 20th aniversary so in tribute to the man, the studio and the vision (Shouji Kawamori, Studio Nue and Macross) here is at long last, Build 4 of the mod! Including 8 Zjentohlauedy units and 17 UN Spacy units, this is the biggest and best release yet. And by popular demand, it includes the SDP-1S!!! Check out the downloads and screenshots pages for more information!!! Or logon to the messageboard.

August 28, 2002:

Well, guess what, another update! After a massive delay, I finally get around to updating again. First, the news: Lestat has apparently fallen off of the face of the earth. Hide nor hair has been seen of him for several months, Sure hope he's still around! Second, Chthonic has had hot pants lately, he's been busy making new models for the TC, and has been pestering me everyday to update. Thanks! Some pics of the models he has been making are below. A poll will be made on the forum for you guys to vote on what they should become. Sorry, no Zendrati yet.

The Daedalus II Class. The new Drone Frigate.

In order from left to right: Defender, Phalanx, Tomahawk, QF-3000 Ghost Tanker Variant, Zendrati recovery ship.

June 7th, 2002:

Finally an update! Sorry its been so long, but I just moved into my first house, and that is pretty much what kept the site from being updated for the entire month. But not to worry, progress is being made. Lestat is working on his Calliara class destroyer, Guyffon is working on the Super Valkyrie animation, and I am still trying to get HWSE to work on my PC. For this update, I have included a new slew of effects, such as missiles that actually hit their target, a really neat ion beam for the Gunboat, and a new, slimmer Ghost II "Phantom" model with all new tweaked manuverability. Also, I have included as a 'bonus' download, the older style ARMD platform as the Drone Frigate, using the Lancer II  model as the drone. The ARMD model and textures come from the now dead Robotech mod, and the Lancer II models are our own. Another thing you may have noticed, is that if you download the entire UN Spacy file from the Downloads page, you will notice that we are now numbering our releases, starting with this one. Go ahead and get the Beta 1.1 now!

April 4th, 2002:
Made a minor update. We'll have some new ships for release soon. One of them is the transformable VF-1AS Gerwalk, which the test version is in the game. As you can see, the newer version also has missile pods under the wings, as was requested by you the fans.

March 22nd, 2002:
Been updating the web pages, so they look a little more asthetic, as well as fixing a few broken links, updating the unit listings, screenshots, and downloads on the screenshots page. We are just tweaking a full release of all the U.N. Spacy units we have so far, so you should expect the full side within a week, with a fully working VF-1J GBP-1S (Armoured Valkyrie), English.script, New Portraits, etc.

I'm also currently working on the SDP-1 at the moment, though it's a long way from seeing your homeworld directories. Keep it real peeps.

March 18th, 2002:
Added two new units to download. The Meltohlauendy Carrier (with an incomplete mex) and the Queadluun-Nna. Both are for single player missions only at this stage, and can be seen in Mission 2. Unzip the files into a P1 directory off your homeworld directory.

Also, a happy birthday message out to my mother :) Hey mum :) Happy Birthday, Love Ben ;)

Febuary 26, 2002:

Well, it's update time again, and not so much for now, but in the not too distant future, you should have a (perhaps fully) transformable version of the SDF-1 Macross as your new heavy cruiser. Our turreting and animating gurus are hard at work to make this one real special for you, just as I have toiled on the models and textures on my baby for the last 18 months. I never was happy with the macross until now, and I am sure you will all agree as soon as you see it in game.

I've also a special surprise for all you Zjentohlauedy enthusiests. The Zjentohlauedy Heavy Cruiser should also be available soon, I'm midway through texturing it now, that is the Nupetiet Vergnitzs medium sized fleet command battleship, or Bretai 7018's Flagship to the less initiated. I think the texture job is gonna be even better than the Macross! Here is a pic:

Enjoy, and I am sure you will really enjoy our next update, it looks like it won't be so far away either!

January 26, 2002:

Yet another minor update, this time uploading the tweaked ships to the server. The ships have been done for several days now, but because of personal reasons, I was unable to get to my machine long enough to FTP all the files in one sitting. All of the available U.N. Spacy units have been tweaked, and even better, the download file size has been reduced drastically, thanks to Sjet vs Kerrigan's sage advice.

Again, I cannot test many of the newly updated ships, because a friend, who really needs to buy his own copy, is using my Homeworld CD. Hope you enjoy!

Once again, Lestat has given us somthing to drool over. Here are the latest pics of his masterpiece, the SDF-1 Macross.

Now only the connecting sections between the ARMD carriers and the SDF-1 are needed to complete the model. Also, if you notice, the ARMD "arms" are composed of two seperate models, the ARMD 01 and the ARMD 02. The SDF-1 Macross was originally planned to have the two different ships attached in the movie DYRL?, but due to time restraints, only the ARMD 01 was drawn. Here, for the first time in gaming history (and possibly animation history) is the SDF-1 Macross, as it was planned from the beginning.

January 15, 2002:

The site has been updated in several areas, including the links page, which now has several banners of the linked sites, the screenshot page now doubles as a unit download page, where you can download each ship individually. The Mod files have been fixed, although I cannot test the new ships right now, because a friend is borrowing my Homeworld CD. I am pretty sure that they work fine. The VF-X-4 is now in the cloaked fighter slot, and the U.N. Spacy Gunboat now has it's animation back.

Although Lestat has been pretty quiet these past few days, I assure you, he has not been idle. He has been working hard on texturing the SDF-1 Macross. Here is a pic to show his progress:

What do you think?

January 14, 2002:

Small update, the mod pack hasn't been fixed yet, but I uploaded a whole slew of pics from the DYRL? DVD to the site for graphic reference. Follow this link to see them.

January 9,2002:

Wow, two updates in just a few days. That must be some sort of record ;)

A small update, but an update with a release non the less. I switched the races so that the Kushen (R1) are now the U.N. Spacy. The Zendrati Units have not been effected into the other race slot yet. Some new special effects have been added, including the now infamous transforming valkyrie, and two new weapon effects; the GU-11 bullet and the head laser are now wonderfully represented by work from Sjet vs Kerrigan.

Enjoy!

January 6, 2002:

Happy New Year!

A small update, just so that no one thinks that we are dying out here...

It seems that some people think that the mod is begining to die. They think that because we do not update every day (or even every month, for that matter ;), or release new units like a well oiled machine that we are losing interest in the mod. To all you naysayers, let me tell you this: If you put as much time into a project as Lestat and I have, you really can't quit. It becomes a part of everyday life. Not a day goes by without me thinking about what to do on the mod, but, due to Real Life (tm), I can't get many of those things done as quickly as I would like to. We have had many people tell us that the mod is dying, or that people are losing interest. We have always out lived the skeptical. As long as people are into Macross, us or people like us will be there, trying to make life a little more fun for them. I would like to share an Email that wes sent to me, supporting the mod:

Hello,
My name is Rhys Trammell and on behalf of the La Cueva high School chapter of the Macross/Robotech fan club I must say... NICE MOD!!! The truth is that we've been coming to the website quite often over the past 7 months or so but decided to actually come up out of the shadows after seeing the post "This mod is dieing, I can feel it". That made us mad because we all know that with the talent and hard work from you and your team, along with the backing of Macross and Robotech fans alike, that this mod will someday see glorious completion!! I would have posted this in the forum but ezBoards and I have trouble... Well! just wanted to pop up and show support!!! Great Job!!!

It give me a major warm fuzzy to know that peeps care enough to let us know :)

December 26, 2001:

Not so much actual mod progress, but some important executive decisions have taken place. The team has decided that; due to the fact that more of the fighters for the Kushan actually fire on enemy units, and the U.N. Spacy relies heavily on fighters, we will be switching the U.N. Spacy and the Zendrati forces into their respective races (Kushan will be U.N. Spacy, and Tiidani will be Zendrati).

Also, work will be started on the weapons pack very soon, so if you would like to help us make up our minds as to what weapon should be what, the drop by the forums and let us know!

October 31, 2001:

Much progress again, mainly to the thanks to Guyffon and Chtonic, who have contributed much to the mod. Props to Guyffon for animating a Valkyrie in HW, he is the first to do so in the entire Homeworld community. A new release has been made , including  textures for:

  • Zendrati Assault ship
  • VFX-4 Lightning
  • Cat's Eye recon plane

Also, we now have a transforming Valkryie in the Scout slot that transforms from Fighter to Gerwalk mode when attacking. It is now avaliable with the current release, which also includes the VFX-4 which, sadly, so far will only shoot at enemy projectiles, as it is in the Defense Fighter slot.

October 4th, 2001:

Another release, Build-3 is out. It includes more ships for the U.N. Spacy, and some of the older ones have been updated. Many thanks to Guyffon for animating out Gunboat, and to Chthonic, for making the all-new GBS-1J Valkyrie(which will be up soon, I promise) We really appreciate all of the help we have been getting from both the Macross and the Homeworld communities. If things keep up at this rate, we may actually get a real game out of this :)

September 26th, 2001:

More updates, fixed links, etc. Progress has been slow, but expect some new ships imported from Macross VO very soon. Thanks to Ancient Angel for making the VE-1 model in HW for us.

August 13th, 2001:

The site is finally back up, this time on gamespy's servers. Thanks to them for hosting us. The site is still in an incomplete form, but will be getting more complete as time goes on.

June 7th, 2001:

The Message board is severely damaged and currently down. I hope to put a new one up soon enough, but it could be some time yet. I am currently working on texturing many of the models, but especially the Meltohlauendy Gunboat. Why that? Because it is so damned cool!

June 4th, 2001:
I've simply updated a few links on the links page, as well as added some instructions for the B3 pre-release on the downloads page. The Credits have also been slightly updated, and some older graphics have been taken down from the screenshots page.

June 1st, 2001:
Shit! Another month gone by, and little progress to show? Well, not entirely so... We're working on getting a whole heap of new models in, which I have posted images bellow, one of them is a Zjentohlauedy captial ship - A Medium-Scale Gunboat! Also a Meltohlauedy ship! We are looking into getting a mapper, to work on custom multi-player levels that will have the Meltohlauedy in them. Also we are looking for MAD Animators especially! We don't have the expertese to release things fast, a good turreter or two and a MAD animator are needed if you want this mod any faster. Please don't raise your hand if you can't be committed or do the job!

Unfortunately, the Zjentohlauedy mod has been taken down for now because it has issues. We are currently doing our best to fix them. Note also, the mod only runs in multi-player mode with either another human or with the computer.

May 1st, 2001:
Shit! It's already May! Sorry to our devoted fans, and visitors, but Real Life has caught up with the team of late. Congrats to One_Klump on his new born baby girl! On the bright side, there is a new version of the mod! Well, half of one. Because life has its little ways of doing us over, especially our deadlines, we have decided to release what we have completed or near completed so far. Head to the downloads page to pick up the new ships!

  • New version of the U.N. Spacy Ships: Valkyrie, Super Valkyire, Lancer, Ghost, Ghost 2 and U.N. Spacy Destroyer!
  • Two Zjentohlauedy units! At last!

    March 15th, 2001:
Well, it's March 15th, and as you can see, there is no release yet. Due to real life commitments, release has been held off until sometime later this month. The page has been updated:

  • New Screenshots for the scheduled models to be released with the march mod when it comes out.
  • New Search Engine on the pages. This is here for us to make a little money to pay for the website hosting when it comes around later this year. Please use it to show your support. It's actually pretty good.
  • Slightly new interface. You'll notice the menu is slightly updated. Nice isn't it. On the top is our project logo.

    Febuary 15th, 2001:
Well, here's what you've been waiting for. I've spoken to the team and on the 13th of March we aim to have a balanced release with no less then five replacements per side. See some of the new models and textures in the screenshots section, and yes, that is a transformable Valkyrie. NOTE: The textures are incomplete except for the lancer 2.

    January 25th, 2001:
Well its about time for a major update. Alot has happened in the last few weeks. I have been working very hard, but not so much on the mod. However, more recently, alot has been done. Our numbers have now increased once again and everyone please welcome our new modeller Isbemoth to the team.

Isbemoth has already brought to the team three new models:

    - U.N. Spacy QF-9iE Ghost II (Phantom)
    - Meltlandi Queadluun-Nna
    - Meltlandi Queadluun-Rau

We are also hard at work on many new units to put in:

    - Zentradi Regult Tactical One Man Pod
    - Zentradi Nupetiet-Vergnitzs Medium-Scale Fleet Command Battleship
    - Meltlandi Gunship (Milia 639's ship)
    - Meltlandi Carrier/LST

We have also remodelled a few of the ships to make the look better:

    - U.N. Spacy Spider Bug (New mesh and texture)
    - U.N. Spacy SF-3A Lancer II (New texture)
    - U.N. Spacy ARMD Carrier (New mesh)
    - U.N. Spacy QF-3000E Ghost (New mesh and texture)
    - U.N. Spacy Destroyer (New mesh and modified texture)

    January 12th, 2001:
Made a few minor updates to the unit listings. Its now confirmed that we can use the Defense Frigate slot like a normal frigate which will introduce the rarely before seen ARMD Carrier from Macross: Flashback 2012. Also, found out some details about two to three new possible mecha in game, including the official name of the Ghost 2.

    January 9th, 2001:
Ok, its been a while since I have made it to the news section. The features pages have been completely updated, and the mod will now feature single player compatibility.

    December 5th, 2000:
Done heaps today. Redid the screenshots page. There's some new pics of all the models, plus a pic of the new one I did today. We should make another release before the end of the year.

    November 21st, 2000:
Nothing really excieting this time. Just corrected a few spelling mistakes... Sorry people, it might begin to get slow for a while... I'm going to Sweden in three weeks for seven months and I don't know how much time I'll have yet for this project.

    November 11th, 2000:
I've updated the screenshots pages to include the new Oberth textured destroyer, and two developmental shots of the Spiderbug and the Cat's Eye. Also, we're planning another release really soon.

    November 3rd, 2000:
I've updated the GUI a little and the front page... you like?

    October 28th, 2000:
Well, I've updated the pics of the super valk and ARMD (which underwent some minor retexturing) and also added new pics of the UN Destroyer and my very own adaptation of animation footage from Flashback 2012 (a UN Gunship).

    October 26th, 2000:
More models. See the screenshots section, VF-1A Super Valkyrie and ARMD Carrier!

    October 23rd, 2000:
Progress!!! We've got at least four models at once in game - the Valkyrie, Ghost, Lancer and Macross! And the Macross has rotating turrets.

Things are looking super spiffy these days!

In fact, you may have them! A new release at last! Go to downloads to get it!

    October 21st, 2000:
Well, we've got a new guy on the team... Gefahren Zerstoerung... he'll be doing the stuff I can't do for Macross herself...

I'm going to Sweden in 8 weeks so we want to have a release by then. So long as I get in touch with Brice again, our Zentrati modeller, we should have a six-ship-per-team release... three fighter/corvettes and three capital ships per team.

    October 17th, 2000:
Wow! Has it been this long? Well, not too much is happening, I've been planning for my move overseas, so that's taken up alot of my time, One_Klump has been tweeking ships, Brice has some more alien models done, but he's dissapeared off the face of the planet, and Panos is finalizing his ARMD texture, though alot's happening with his band, so we're all very busy.

I textured the better half of the Macross this week, and added 15 turrets now that they can be managed inside homeworld. Stay posted, I promise the next one won't take so long...

If you've got any suggestions or questions contact us on the message board here or at relic (editing).

    September 20th, 2000:
Haven't updated for a while now, but this should entice the fans! Have a look in the screenshots section. If Lybra is right, some of these images are enough to turn fans into finatics!

The content of the release may have changed, since in the last two weeks, an entire 50% of all Zjentohlauedy ships have been modelled!

    September 9th, 2000:
Haven't updated for a week or so, but lots has been cooking. Mainly in the models department... The Zjentohlauedy Aerospace Fighter is pretty much fully modelled and textured. It will very soon have an entry in the units section, and will be available for download in the first official release which may be available as early as october.

The Release will include 5 Fighters and Two capital ships from both sides.

    September 2nd, 2000:
Further updated the unit listings, thanks to Windjammer discovering another Zjentohlauedy unit to use. Also, gained a new modeller who is plowing along, with three units made already! We may yet require more MEX, SHIP and Script editors!

    August 29th, 2000:
Lots of great things going... The message board is to a degree successful, at least people are leaving messages there! Thanks fellas. Oh... and also, I'll add a link on the index page which indicates when this page was last updated.

In addition to that, theres been lots of work going on in the mod. The units list is being constantly revised and is looking good. Lybra, One_Klump and Windjammer, thanks alot for your input!

We also have the prospect of a new modeller to the team! More on that as soon as the details are worked out. What it means is that the mod will be able to move faster!

See you soon, next update can never be too far away!

    August 24th, 2000:
Added a full unit listing available off the features page.

    August 19th, 2000:
Over the last ten days I've fixed up the site considerably, today has seen the addition of a message board and graphic updates. The link to the message board is beneath the logo at the top of the page.

    August 10th, 2000:
Posted the new version of the web page up today and the new Lancer II space fighter, for Homeworld! Enjoy, it's in the downloads section!
