True 3-D space combat, excellent sound and mind-numbingly pretty graphics combine to make Homeworld a must-play title for anyone interested in strategy gaming.

Let’s not mince words: Homeworld is a title that will terrify any gamer with an ounce of sensitivity. Real-time, ship-level, select-and-send strategy set in the open void of deep, alien, hostile, almost Lovecraftian space. The game even looks scary: One minute you’re focusing on a meaningless cluster of dots in the squinting, unimagineable starry distance....and the next minute, one radical, vertiginous zoom-in brings the ships so close up in your face that you can read the registration numbers imprinted on their scored, pitted hulls. Every Warcraft-fed bone in your body rebels and tells you the whole thing is sick and wrong....and yet, strangely compelling.

UNIQUE APPROACH TO REAL-TIME STRATEGY

TERRIFIC SOUND

A REAL SENSE OF THE TERRIBLE VASTNESS OF SPACE

STARTLING, GORGEOUS GRAPHICS

DRAMATIC IN A RIDICULOUS, OVER-THE-TOP STARBLAZERS KIND OF WAY

DEFINITELY NOT A JUMP-IN-COLD GAME; NEWBIES WHO DO NOT CONSULT THE TUTORIALS ARE HOSED.

SOME STABILITY PROBLEMS IN MULTIPLAY

THE TWO SIDES ARE A LITTLE TOO ALIKE IN SHIPS/WEAPONRY
