Homeworld: Cataclysm
Gameplay
- Slow at times, hair raising fast at others. The Tactics and Formations haven't
changed a bit, but their implementations have. They have more of an effect on
gameplay now, and if you don't adjust them for the situation you're
automatically missing out on some destructive or evasive capability. Formations
are better as well, I personally found Wall to be very useful facing fighters
off against fighters. And, god bless Barking Dog, they added a time compression
feature. It's now not nearly so boring sitting and waiting for your harvesters
to get done collecting minerals. Actually, it's pretty funny to see Multiplayer
- Cool. That's all I have to say. I've played both Homeworld and Homeworld:
Cataclysm on the 'net and it's just cool. There is almost no lag, but Conclusion - Gameplay: 20/20 Interface: 18/20 Level Design: 18/20 Replayability: 16/20 Originality: 16/20 Final Score 88% There are a few things I think could have been better, like the ship AI and I'd have like behavior modifications for the ships too (Ground Control style). The single player game won't replay all that well, all the missions are scripted and set in stone. For Originality I can't give it a REALLY high score, after all it is a sequel to another game. A difficulty option for Single player would have been a great idea too, as beginners will find the learning curve sharp and the starting missions very hard, but all in all a very good game. To Part 1
