 Microsoft Goes Relic Hunting

Relic says goodbye to Sierra, hello to the big Gates.

March 1, 2000

CEO of Relic Entertainment, Alex Garden, announced today that their next game will not be published by Sierra but by Microsoft. This new "secret project" was mentioned to us a while back but no details were released, so apparently Microsoft is a little better at holding on to game information than they are about holding back the hinkfo on a particular "secret" new console that's in the ways. We didn't get any details on the actual game, not even the name, but we know that it has an incredible and proven development team behind it. Alex Garden didn't give a reason behind the move, but it probably has something to do with that green stuff called money.

You should remember Relic as the developer behind the groundbreaking 3D space RTS Homeworld, last year's out-of-nowhere RTS that combined a terrific storyline with incredible gameplay and action. If this secret project of Relic's lives up to its predecessors, then we should have a highly addictive game that keeps us from doing work yet again. So hurry up and get it done, Relic! We're getting sick of working!
