The seventeen missions that make up Homeworld Cataclysm's Single Player campaign tell the story of the Somtaaw mining ship the Kuun-Lan. Through a series of events, the Kuun-Lan becomes the sole Somtaaw vessel that stands between the worst enemy the Hiigaran's have ever faced and the annihilation of the entire race. Along the way, the Kuun-Lan must transform itself into a warship, and battle old enemies (the Turanic Raiders and the Imperialist Taiidan) in the process.
