This is a great add-on / new game.
Things I like:
Can do more from the big screen.
Can move the "mothership".
Plus all of Homeworld except...
Things I don't like:
No Yes song :-(
Difficulty even harder!!!

I like this game better than the original, they fixed most of what was wrong with homeworld (not that there was much to correct) the ships were excellent and well balanced

Definitely another winner amongst the Homeworld story. Cataclysm provides a brand new and very detailed plot, new ships, researches, graphics, and new strategies. The original homeworld struck gamers as the first or one of the first 3D Realtime Space Strategy. When played online or against the computer, a player will find themselves needing to harvest a lot of RUs (Resource Units) and pumping out a lot of units to survive. Just so you know an average game can take from 10 minutes to 2 hours depending on the number of players and the skill level of each. Already, a new homeworld saga is being created titled Homeworld 2. Having thoroughly enjoyed the original Homeworld this one easily follows in its footsteps. Its different from the original in ways that make its strategy more complex. excellent game I gave it a 9 (the original was a 10).

Probably the best RTS I have every played! My complaints is that not much 3rd party support (mods). And only 2 playable factions?
I hope Homeworlds2 will solve that.

Cataclysm is one of the best multi-player games I`ve ever played. Even though the Sierra multiplayer site bites, the game is so good I keep going back.

This game rocks. It is everything Homeworld should have been. Barking Dog Studios and Sierra did an awesome job. I wish every game I bought was so well done.
