Feline Canine - Coniar :: 07/03/01 ::

The Henchman clicked the safety of and reached for the trigger he could finally see what he was looking for, what he had been looking for for the last 3 days, a tiger. And a big one at that. Sighting down the barrel of his rifle he squeezed the trigger. As the gun went of the Henchman heard the bang and whistle of the tranquilizer dart and the soft thud of it hitting flesh. As the man watched he could already see the tigers step faltering and the breathing become labored and slow.

Suddenly he awoke his vision was hazy and he felt like he had been in a deep sleep for many hours but he smelled new, interesting smells and he was interested getting up the massive beast stretched and took stalk of his surroundings all he could see where 4 metal walls with a small door with a window on it there was dry grass on the cold metallic floor suddenly a face appeared In the door and stuck a small round tube through the bars and suddenly all went black again.

When he awoke again it was much the same as last time hazy vision 4 walls dry yellow grass on the ground but now the Tiger sensed another animal in the room with him, jumping up he served the room still feeling the presence of another animal suddenly he realized his body was not his own. His tail was twitching, but it wasn't his own tail; it was bushy but still orange and black. He looked down his paws where the size of dinner plates, as they had always been but now there where black and gray with orange swirls and he could feel another mind, another set of instinct and behaviors; a pack animal a canine smart team oriented a canine not a feline like him.

A week later he had grown accustomed to sharing his new body with another animal they had learned to work together controlling the body together after being trained they had been made leader of 3 other animals like them. The humans that taught them where unlike any other humans he had seen, they used some kind of wire that they held in front of there mouth and talked to him in ways he didn't understand but it seemed that he did understand it in some way it was as if another tiger had communicated with him and he understood, he understood that he was to kill the enemy who the enemy was that he was to lead his team he understood.

3 days after completing the training he was leading his team through a thick steaming jungle on what the humans had called a mission they had told him to follow a team of flying cheetahs to a base and destroy the perimeter fence and guards so a team could get inside and destroy it. He knew the other teams and threw members he knew their calls their smell he knew everything about them his senses could detect anything. As he listened to the beat of the giant brown feathered wings above him and behind him the stomp of huge gray leathery legs.

Now he could see a glint of sun on metal ahead and a lion gorilla combo squad patrolling the perimeter he knew what to do his team knew what to do all he did now was act on instinct. Running from the cover of the jungle his team following they loped toward the first guard and rammed causing both animals to fall to the ground. He rolled to the side and felt the canine side of him swipe with a front paw and as soon as he was up lunge for the throat of his enemy. He tasted bloody fur and he heard the cries of other animals, members of his team or the enemy he could not tell. Suddenly he blacked out but was still conscious. Everything became a blur he had no idea what had happened but when everything had stopped 5 guards were dead and the fence lay shattered. His job was done and he and his team headed home listening to the bang and creak of steel and cement being demolished.
