Forums

For a game that upset quite a few gamers when it first came out, there still seems to be a vast horde at its discussion forums keen to contribute. This is a good place to find any info - especially for official statements made by the developers themselves about aspects of this complex game and links to various guides and articles on the game. There's a fair amount of noise to negotiate though.
Apolyton: MoO3
The Apolyton Civilization Site's Master of Orion III section. News, some pics and a little information mostly in the form of reviews. Surprisingly not that informative...
The Battlefield: MOO3 weblink The Battlefield: MOO3: A tournament and ladders site for the game. This is part of a large site called The Battlefield, which hosts tournaments for other strategy games, such as Civilization III and Age of Wonders.
MoO3 Guardian Comprehensive info and strategy site for MoO3, including sections on its two predecessors. This is a great site to peruse, itemising everything you need to know to get into the game. There are also some downloads, mods, fan fiction and an extensive links section.
MoO3Mods.com weblink MoO3Mods.com is (or was!) THE place to go for any fan built custom mods for Master of Orion III. This has everything from cosmetic graphic and sound changes right through to rejigs and retunes of the game itself. Highly, highly recommended! Alas, Moo3Mods has been hacked once too often (whut?!) and effectively closed down. It might return, depending on the webmaster's interest at the time...
Moods of
Masters of Orion
A new site featuring the latest crop of bug fixing and home grown graphics enhancements for the game, some of which seem to be revitalizing it in a big way amongst the fans and resolving issues that would normally have most people tearing their hair out. You could consider some of these as the next "unofficial" patch for the game, built by and for gamers.
Neurotech: MOO3 sucks A classic example of some very unhappy customers.
The Orion Sector weblink The Orion Sector: One of the biggest and most venerable Masters of Orion III fan sites on the web. This is an excellent starting point for info and strategies. Ranging from collections of old development details and data dumps, screen shots, developer 's information and multiplayer hosting, and a good all round roadmap to all the MOO3 sites out there. Orion Sector has been tracking this game during much of its development process.
QuickShot14's Domain Home of the MoO3 Un-official Expansion (UE) site. This is a new multi-mod aimed at becoming a fan built expansion pack for the game. Various builds will be released to the fan base for perusal and comment. Sounds like something worth keeping an eye on... However, you will need to register to actually download the thing or see any screengrabs.
Rotten Tomatoes MoO3 page Probably the best summing up of this game I've ever seen, giving you a wide smorgasbord of good and bad reviews and arguments. I found myself agreeing with most of them, good and bad.
Station Prime weblink Station Prime: A good game strategy and resources site for Masters of Orion III by a serious strategy gamer. It offers a number of game guides as well as its own very accessible introduction to everything to do with the game.
World of Strategy: Master of Orion III A World of Strategy community page for MoO3. Some basic game information.
