Fixed some stale links in the Total Annihilation Mods and TA links page; updating a few logos and adding a few new entries. Added whatever incomplete updates to the Startopia section happened to be lying around. Also some w.i.p. changes to Startopia's Who's Who and Redemption pages. Just a small incremental update, now that I'm back at work.

Updated the Campaign Creations link, and added Shambler.net to the StarCraft Info & Strategies page. Updated all related links to follow suit. CC has vanished due to what looks like a stupid case of egocentric monomania. Shambler.net was formerly Zileas.com, Zileas being old tournament winner in StarCraft's very early days and a StarCraft philosopher/expert of high note to boot. Finally, I found his site after many moons of (not really) searching, just in time to find he's scored a job at a game firm somewhere and has shut it down - or rather handed it on to his compadres. Shambler's an excellent read for any serious gamer, and specialising in Blizzard games and other fantasy and strategy related titles.

Updated the Homeworld Info & Strategies page. Trying for small incremental upgrades rather than lose entire days to just site maintenance. The Magic Portal site is taking up all my time right now.

Updated the About page to reflect RTSC's new location. Added some Magic Portal buttons around the place - my current web project.

Some small amendments that failed to make it yesterday for the TA Section. Shuffled some pics, corrected many erroneous links, updated some info. Particular items: kicked the TAUIP and TAUCP pages around again; expanded the World Domination and Rumadian entries in TA Mods. All of TAUniverse.com's links should work now.

Nearly a month without any updates, but a lot has been going on. A huge file reorganisation and a massive attack on the Startopia Section, whose game guide is huge - nay - monstrous now. I'm seriously wondering if I've overdone it. Expect it to mutate and reorganise further. Anyway, with an interstate trip, a wedding and a number of other events, plus a full week of chopping and changing web pages I finally got fed up enough just to post whatever the hell is here and just keep going. I often find more errors and mistakes that way! Expect all kinds of unfinished paragraphs and other silly nonsense.

Performed the usual update to the TA Section. Seriously, the Total Annihilation community doesn't seem to sleep.

Sorry for the slight delay; unexpected and busy production schedules turned my life upside down for much of this month. Anyway, had an opportunity to update the TA section. As usual, there's lots going on in the TA world! Many other sections have been busily reorganized and reworked (especially the neverending Startopia pages) but these changes haven't been uploaded yet. The copy of RTSC on my hard drive is suffering a complete file reorganization and I'm planning a proper screengrab gallery and some honest-to-God downloads for once. So expect a few more "interesting" updates very shortly. Oh yeah! - reminder to self - the About page is hideously obsolete. Must fix!

RTSC moves to www.rakrent.com!

Ah, at last, at last. Free of my old ISP's 10Mb limit... and my own little domain name. You can expect a few grandiose changes in the upcoming months, although RTSC will slip onto the back burner as other projects, such as the Magic Portal and (at long last) my own 3D CV site gets going. The Webcounter's gone, since I've now got site useage data coming out of my ears. I'll need to update the About page at some point.

In the meantime, you can entertain yourself with some current updates. Homeworld gets a rub down in its Mods and Links section. Mostly cosmetic changes, like checking the currency of links and adding a few button graphics I've scaveneged. Finally got back onto the Startopia Section's Rule of Thumb Guide, fast becoming the Bloated Monstrous Neurotic Details Guide to Startopia. Ah, well. Its all over the place, as info and details is thrown together. Once all the elements are there they'll be shuffled around into more sensible configurations. At the moment, some pages have bloated hugely, others are untouched. Have fun!

A quick update fast spirals rapidly out of control! Other RTS Games gets its own menu sidebar - at the rate its growing I might have to make it a whole section! Updated the front page after I actually read it for the first time in ages - oh dear, its been out of date for months! Embarrassing.

This was originally going to be a Jul 30 update, but FTP problems and ISP maintainence(!) got in the way. Realworld's been quite busy too, so updates are light and sporadic. Fixed some dud links in TA Maps, added the latest w.i.p. changes to the Startopia section, updated Other RTS Games.

Service update to the Age of Kings section. Bit of spit and polish, and a rub down.

A bit of a busy fortnight, so little was added to the site apart from the usual sporadic fixits; mostly of the annoying tiny variety - stupid typos and others tedious stuff. Fixed a few bits in the StarCraft section but the Startopia and Total Annihilation sections get the most work as usual. TA Universe finally came back up. Whew!

Oh, and by the way - RTSC will be moving to a new location once I've got a domain name set up. Stay tuned.

A week's worth of updates: current (almost there) version of the Startopia Section, and its Rule of Thumb Guide. There's just the small fiddly details to flesh out now, most of the main scribbling and info's in place. Added the O.R.B. entry to Other RTS Games. Fixed a hole in StarCraft Links. Updated the TA Designers and Swedish YankSpanker's weblinks and logos to reflect their newer look and locations. TA Universe still hasn't come back up, so half the TA links in RTSC are still lost...

Uploaded some amendments that failed to make it into Monday's update (June 24). Updated Homeworld's Mods and Links pages, plus added some pics I forgot to upload earlier. Total Annihilation gets the usual neverending nip and tuck here and there. TA Universe is still worryingly down. Some snippets done to Startopia, but most of the action for it continues offline.

Another broad update. First up, the Startopia section gets a huge update, with an RTSC Rule of Thumb Guide. It took a lot longer than I originally anticipated, so I'm a bit reluctant to go forth and do another one anytime soon. Still some work to do on it, and some older pictures will be culled and updated along the way. Various routine corrections and amendments: StarCraft Links, TA Links, Homeworld Links, and even a few corrections of RTS Basics: Unit Types.

Oh dear - TA Universe and all the sites with it have vanished off the web! Many of the Total Annihilation links will no point nowhere as I write this. Hopefully, they'll come up soon. Well, they'd better! TA Universe is a major part of the TA scene...

Massive update to most areas of the site, mostly cleaning fungus and accumulated grime from all the grouting in the various links and entries. Age of Kings, StarCraft, Homeworld, and that ongoing leviathan, Total Annihilation, all get a polish and a panel beat. Doubtless there's still lots of holes, typos and other weirdness abounding, but a lot less than before. I hope. So much for sitting down and completing the Startopia Rule of Thumb Guide! Oh well. Oh, yeah - another mod's scored its own page in the TA section - here's a big hello to the TAUCP page, which muscles out TAUIP.

Small update to Startopia Links. Some have expired, and its looking a wee bit quiet out there in the depths of space... in the meantime the massive rewrite/finishing up of the original RTSC Bored Shooter Fan's Rule of Thumb Guide to Startopia is coming along nicely.

Somehow, I seem to have added five small updates in six days. Added the Heroes of Might & Magic entry to Other RTS Games in the Games List. Can't imagine how I managed to this one - its quite big, although I thought it was a massive RPG in the Baldur's Gate mold. I went through Gamespot's RTS list recently, and my heart sank (well, figuratively. My heart's incapable of sinking anymore) - there's so many! So much for wanting a comprehensive list. I'll stick to what I think are notable examples. If there's any strategist out there feeling that their favourite game's been unjustly ignored, give me a hoi and I'll add it to the list. Cheers!

Mostly cosmetic nips and tucks, especially to the RTS Glossary, the opening splash page, and one or two version numbers in TA Mods. Of minor interest: the front door to RTSC passes its 1000th hit with the new web counter. I think the old version of RTSC on the now defunct One.Net clocked up something around 1500 hits, and the various game sections each had their own Gameslist.net counter (which have been removed since Gameslist.net has comepletely vanished. Again.

Another dribs'n'drabs update to the Startopia Section. Finally got around to replacing several temporary screengrabs with more sumptuous looking ones. Odd nips & tucks (mostly stupid grammar fixes) here and there.

Updated the StarCraft Mods page (and must polish StarCraft Links, too.) For a while there I thought SC mods were well and truly on the endangered list. Apparently Blizzard has been on the warpath defending its copyright against those it feels have crossed the line. This probably explains why a number of netgaming sites have vanished. Blizzard has even taken down Infoceptor's Warcraft3 custom mod and a StarCraft 3D project. I've had to finally pull the plug on a couple of long gone SC mod links, such as Aqueous Rift, Dark Alliance, NeoTech, Nottingham Systems, Star Trek: Dominion War and updated the Gundam Century link which closed for an entirely different reason.

Big mass of nips and tucks and reformatting to make this site look moderately decent on Netscape 4.7x.

Also realized that the titles and graphics for this site are still the old temporary placebos I chucked in years ago. Oh dear. How many years has it been? Add luminous glow to the ol' title graphic. Still scribbling on the Startopia pages - when not being distracted by actually playing it. Since you can win a netgame with this title without so much as firing a shot, it doesn't quite fit into the regular format. Since it has quite a bit of economic detail and a bit of a learning curve I might just put together a basic introduction of where everything is in the game and what it does.

Finally back from the holidays, got over a heart condition (it was the devastating news I had a classic case of third degree atrio ventricular heasrt block), a new pacemaker and an upper body deep veined thrombosis for good measure. Hence the somewhat erratic updates and gaps in RTSC's neverending amendments.

Revisions for the new year: first up - the new RTSC STARTOPIA PAGE. What a cracker of a game! Almost impossible to find here in Oz, but thanks to Chips & Bits it became possible. Startopia adds a nice new simulation/management side to RTSC. I seem to have missed its big opening run, but what the hell - I'm still alive and that's all that matters!

Massive upgrades to all the game pages. StarCraft and Age of Kings score an extra Custom Mod Page each; Homeworld's updated Mod page is getting so big now its seriously challenging TA's. Surprisingly, many of the StarCraft links have perished since I last updated them months ago. Its mostly few old big sites and a lot of dodgy hacks and cheats sites (not to mention the monstrous Korean fansites). Extensive nips and tucks everywhere, which have been accumulating intermittently but not published until now.
