HOMEWORLD FAN SITE HOSTING CONTEST
Win a Day with Relic to See the Homeworld Sponsored Racecar During the Molson Indy
Bellevue, WA (July 29, 1999) - Sierra StudiosTM announced today that it is partnering with WON.netTM to launch a promotion allowing consumers to create their own Homeworld fan pages. In conjunction with the promotion, Sierra Studios will host a contest with the grand prize being a trip for two to Vancouver to meet the Relic team and see the Homeworld sponsored racecar during the Molson Indy.
"This contest offers our Homeworld fans a way to really get involved and at the same time, boost excitement before the release of this highly anticipated title," says Dan Amdur, product manager at Sierra Studios. "We think this is a great opportunity for our fans to test their skills designing the page, while being given the chance to meet the team behind the game."
About the Contest
Signups for the contest are taking place at http://www.won.net/hwcontest. After signing up, participants will be directed to the Players.WON.net Homeworld pages for page design and posting.
Contestants will be able to win prizes in one of two phases. Anyone who signs up on the contest webpage is automatically entered into a drawing for regular prizes. These can include 2 AnyPointTM Home Network cards from Intel® or 3dfx's Voodoo3TM 3000 premier 3D gaming boards, as well as hats and mouse pads. There will be three drawings for regular prizes, beginning a week after the contest begins and running once a week.
Next, a grand prize drawing will take place the week after the contest closes, and will involve Relic judging their "favorite" fan site that was created during the contest period. The winner of the grand prize will be flown to Vancouver on Friday, September 3rd and will leave Sunday, September 5th. On Saturday, they will accompany the Relic team to the Molson Indy event where they will see the Homeworld car in a special tent and spend time with the developers during the race.
