Sigma is Relic's second strategy title after Homeworld, and is being developed for the PC in conjunction with Microsoft. The term sigma is Greek for "the sum of the parts" and is what defines Sigma as an extremely unique game where players get to "add" animals together to produce their own custom creatures. With a fantastic number of possible combinations, custom designed creatures will allow for custom strategies. The organic feel of ferocious animal units that charge into close-quarter combat on the ground, in the water, and in the sky will be sure to push the games industry into new directions. Set in the mid 1930s, Sigma takes place on a mysterious chain of islands in the South-Pacific. The island environments are far from drab and lifeless, forming rather an interactive wilderness that is as beautiful as it is harsh, challenging a player's creativity to build units with more than just combat abilities. The game will ship with a powerful yet easy to use set of tools, opening up MOD possibilities that will give users the ultimate freedom: from building their own custom islands to importing their own wild animals that can be used in creature combinations. This is definitely a game that pushes design and technical boundaries alike, but we're going to stretch the barriers of what is possible in bringing alive the world of Sigma.
