This is a companion map to Genesis-240D. It is a little smaller with starts for only 6 players and correspondingly less resources and dust motes. According to the read me, "It has been optimzed for play on slower systems and over the internet."
There are less resources than in 240D and the player starts have been juggled a bit. It is not quite as epic in scope or vision, but that means that you can actually finish a game online! It contains all the ideas that made the original a classic map, such as no controllers, start with a carrier, massive distances, amazingly beautiful rings and a good choice (albeit stock) of music and background.
The map itself, for those who don't know, is a massive forming star system (well.. kinda made to look like one) that has non-regenerating resources in clumps like forming gaseous proto-planets. The entire disk is up-ended at a 45 degree or so angle. The players all start a long ways from each other and the very beginning of the game is trying to decide how much to hyper around and where you are going to send your carrier. After all, you HAVE NO RESOURCE CONTROLLERS!
Wild game. It is a MUST have for any seriously minded strategy player of Homeworld
